| Subject: Attack on Titan tops One Piece in Manga sales 2014 Tue Jun 03, 2014 2:32 am | |
| It has been given everyone since 2009 Attack on Titan, written and illistrated by Hajime Isayama, which originally named Shingeki no Kyojin has finally topped the hit manga, written and illistrated by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece which started back in 1997 in the 2014 Manga Sales reports. Now this has been foreseen over the years with Attack on Titan taking in great popularity in 2013 along with Sword Art Online but no one foresaw it getting this big this quick. Selling over 8,342,268 copies compared to One Piece only selling 4,936,855 copies. Now these sales only cover from November 18, 2013 til May 18, 2014, which only covers a total of 6 months but in that little time both managed to sell over 4 million copies. A mind boggling feature that not many mangas manage to live to see. When Attack on Titan first took major popularity, people first thought well it looks like a good anime/manga to give a look at but no one could imagine the mass death and intense scenes with the Titans devouring the humans. Blood splattering everywhere and people running in fear of these inhuman giants. So far I've seen the anime and a few manga chapters and none of them have failed to impress me. This is worth two thumbs up with Attack on Titan rising to the top. With Naruto and Bleach ending later in 2014 we will be saying goodbye to them. Perhaps Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online are meant to take their places, we will all have to wait and see. Until then everyone keep reading and watching.
